Travel from London to Lyon and discover the gastronomic capital of France. Although we can’t take you there directly for the foreseeable future, you can still get to Lyon by taking a Eurostar train to Paris or Lille and changing on to a connecting TGV InOui train.
As we’re a member of Railteam, you’ll have the peace of mind that you can benefit from the ‘Hop on the next available train’ feature if you face delays en route. If you miss your TGV InOui connection, you can hop on the next available train with no extra charge.
Rendez-vous at St Pancras International at the recommended arrival time shown on your ticket for security and passport checks. Then you can settle in on board as we speed you to France.
You’ll need to change train in Paris or Lille onto a direct train to Lyon.
In Paris, it’s a 30-minute transfer from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon, direct on RER line D. Check our page Connecting in Paris for more information.
In Lille, just head up to the departure hall and change platforms. Find more information on how to change trains at Lille Europe here.
In Standard Premier and Business Premier, we’ll serve a meal en route at your spacious and comfortable seat. Standard passengers can visit Café Métropole, our bar buffet, for light bites, drinks and snack.
If you’re a Standard Premier or Business Premier traveller who is hopping on a TGV InOui in Paris, you can sit in First Class for the second part of your journey. So sit back, relax and enjoy watching the scenery pass by.
TGV trains arrive at Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache stations. Just step off the train and straight onto a metro, bus or tram, and start exploring this vibrant, foodie’s paradise.
At some point during your visit, take a break from eating and sightseeing and head to the stunning Musée des Confluences.
On the return journey
Check your ticket to see whether you need to board your TGV train from Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache.
You’ll need to go through security and passport control before boarding your Eurostar train at Paris Gare du Nord or Lille-Europe. Please check your ticket for the recommended arrival time so you arrive at our Eurostar stations in plenty of time to go through these checks.
A UNESCO World Heritage site with superb restaurants, world-class museums and galleries, fabulous festivals and two rivers running through the centre – Lyon pretty much has it all.
If you have an adventurous appetite, Lyon’s the place for you.
Try the dumpling-like quenelles, brave an andouillette sausage, sample some Saint-Marcellin or devour a praline tart.
