Connecting in Paris from Gare du Nord to Gare Montparnasse
To catch your TGV INOUI to your final destination, public transport is a practical way to get from Paris Gare du Nord to Gare Montparnasse when changing trains. The journey takes around 45 minutes. Here's what to do:
- When you arrive at Paris Gare du Nord, follow the M signs to the Paris Métro station located on level -1. Buy a Navigo Easy pass at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If you want to beat the queues, you can also buy a Metro-Train-RER ticket ahead of your trip using the Île-de-France Mobilités (opens in a new tab) or Bonjour RATP app (opens in a new tab).
- Follow the signs to Métro line 4 and board an M4 train towards Bagneux-Lucie Aubrac.
- Get off the train at Montparnasse-Bienvenüe.
- Follow the signs for 'Gare Montparnasse', and then 'Trains Grandes Lignes'. Once you're at Gare Montparnasse, take a lift or the escalators to the TGV platforms. Look for the platform your train will depart from on the departures board.
- Board your TGV train to your final destination. Boarding starts around 20 minutes before departure and the doors close 2 minutes before.
Arriving at Bordeaux Saint-Jean
Your train will arrive at Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station, which is right in the heart of Bordeaux. As there are no border checks upon arrival, you can simply hop off the train and leave the station. And to get to where you're going, you'll have easy access to the city's buses and tramway.
Hiring a car in Bordeaux
If you want to go even further, hire a car directly at the station from Hertz and enjoy a discount as a Eurostar customer.
