Arriving at Calais-Fréthun
Eurostar trains arrive at Calais-Fréthun station, just outside city centre.
There, you can step straight off the train and into a taxi, or hop on a TER train for the 10-minute journey to Calais Ville.
Once in town, the main sights, shops, bars and restaurants are all within easy strolling distance.

A head for heights
For a bird’s eye view of the city below, make a beeline for Calais’ 51m-high lighthouse.
With 271 steps to the top, you’ll have to earn the view, but it’s more than worth it.
City of lace
Calais is known for its excellent lace, and you can still see lace makers and their looms at work at Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode, a museum in a restored 19th-century factory.
Calais' cuisine
Calais’ cuisine is more Flemish than French, with beer and cheese featuring heavily.
The seafood is also top-notch, with scallops, mussels and even eel caught along the coast.
