Departing from Brussels-Midi/Zuid

Brussels-Midi/Zuid Station is just a short walk from the city centre and is well connected by the Brussels Métro, tram lines, and a number of bus routes.

Connecting in Paris between Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon

To catch your TGV to your final destination, public transport is a practical way to get from Paris Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon when changing trains. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Here's what to do:

  1. When you arrive at Paris Gare du Nord, follow the signs to the RER station located on level -1. Buy a Navigo Easy pass at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If you want to beat the queues, you can also buy a Metro-Train-RER ticket ahead of your trip using the Île-de-France Mobilités (opens in a new tab) or Bonjour RATP app (opens in a new tab).
  2. Follow the signs to RER line D sud (south), and board any RER D train heading south (to Melun, Malesherbes, or Corbeil Essonnes).
  3. Get off the train at Gare de Lyon.
  4. Follow the signs for 'Grandes Lignes' to get to the mainline station. Look for the platform your train will depart from on the departures board.
  5. Board your TGV train to your final destination - boarding starts around 20 minutes before departure and the doors close 2 minutes before.

Arriving at Grenoble train station

Your train will arrive at Grenoble train station (Gare de Grenoble), which is located around 1 km from the city centre. As there are no border checks on arrival, just hop off the train and leave the station. The station is well connected by public transport. TAG trams and buses, including tram lines A and B, run regularly between the station and central Grenoble, with a journey time of about 5–10 minutes. Tickets cost around €1.70 and can be bought at the station, from vending machines, or on the TAG app.

Typically, the train journey from Brussels to Grenoble takes 5 hrs 30 mins with a connection. When you view the available tickets, you will be able to see the length of the train journey for each departure time.

Please contact us at least 24 hours before departure if you need assistance on your journey. Our colleagues will ensure assistance is arranged for both legs of your connecting journey. Please be aware this may require your trip to be amended so that you have more time to make your connecting train.

As we're part of the HOTNAT and AJC schemes, we'll help you get to your final destination if you miss your connecting Eurostar or TGV INOUI train, at no extra cost.
