Travelling in Standard
Welcome to getaways without the hassle. Go from the centre of one city to the heart of another, with no busy airports, tricky transports or bumpy landings.
Our tickets are now more flexible than ever before. And from 4 November, you’ll be travelling in our new travel classes Eurostar Standard, Eurostar Plus, or Eurostar Premier.
The Standard travel experience
Travel with more freedom
Bring two bags up to 85cm and one piece of hand luggage for no extra charge and with no weight limits. We won’t charge you for choosing your seats, and there are no restrictions on liquids (so bring something bubbly for the journey).
Find out more about our luggage allowances.
Flexible tickets
You can now change your ticket as many times as you want with no fee up to one hour before travel, giving you more flexibility. Be aware that if your new ticket costs more, you'll pay the difference. You can also get a refund up to 7 days before travel for a €25 fee.

If you find yourself feeling peckish, drop by our bar buffet, Eurostar Café, to pick up hot and cold drinks, snacks, meals and sweet treats, as well as a range of beers, wines, bubbly and spirits.
Take a look at our Eurostar Café menu.
Stay connected
Whether you’re travelling for work or play, you can email, tweet and post with our free onboard wi-fi – which even works in the Channel Tunnel (subject to connectivity). You’ll find power sockets at your seat, so you can stay charged up while you relax.
Family travel made easy
Our trains are perfect for a family holiday. Children under four can travel for free, provided they sit on an adult’s lap throughout the journey. We have baby changing facilities when you need some private space with the little ones, and tables for the whole family to sit around.
Go greener with Eurostar
Did you know that your carbon footprint from one flight to Paris is the same as making 14 Eurostar journeys?* That’s the equivalent of travelling with us every day for two weeks.
We’re committed to switching entirely to renewable energy in the UK, France and Belgium by 2030. And we’re already using 100% wind power to run our trains in the Netherlands

*The analysis by EcoRes uses average CO₂ emissions per passenger travelling 1km. The calculations used 2022 internal data from the entire Eurostar-Thalys network (annual consumption of traction electricity, number of passengers transported, number of km travelled by these passengers), and CO₂ emission factors attributed to traction electricity produced in the respective countries crossed. For thermal cars, the emissions factor used is average for a combustion-powered car (averaged fuel) on a long-distance journey at 171gCO₂/km considering 2.2 person per car, taken from the ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) Carbon Base. Calculations for the average CO₂ emissions per passenger for flights used combustion emissions from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) calculator, with additional upstream emissions data (WTT) based on DGAC (direction Générale de l’aviation civile) ratio of 22%. Non-CO₂ effects (condensation trails and cirrus clouds) were not taken into account. More information on eurostar.com.
Calculations taken from an independent study carried out by EcoRes SCRL in July 2023.
