If you prefer to use public transport, the journey takes around 15 minutes. Here's what to do:
- When you arrive at Gare de l'Est, follow the M signs to the Paris Métro station. Buy a Pass Navigo Easy at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If you want to beat the queues, you can also buy a Metro-Train ticket ahead of your trip using the Île-de-France Mobilités (opens in a new tab) or Bonjour RATP app (opens in a new tab).
- Follow the signs to Métro line 4 and board an M4 train towards Porte de Clignancourt.
- Get off the train at Paris Gare du Nord (just 1 stop).
- Follow the signs for 'Grandes Lignes'.
• If you're travelling to Belgium, the Netherlands or Germany, look for the platform your train will depart from on the departures board. Find your platform and be ready to board your Eurostar train at least 10 minutes before departure.
• If you’re travelling on to the UK, follow signs for 'Hall 2/London departures' up to the first-floor mezzanine. Please ensure you get there well before the ticket gates close – you’ll need to allow enough time to go through security and passport control.
