Take the train to Toulon

You have three options, depending on the day and time you want to travel. Leaving from St Pancras International or Kent, you can take Eurostar direct to Marseille then change onto a local train.

Alternatively, you can take Eurostar to Paris or Lille and continue on to Toulon by TGV.

Passport and luggage checks are done at the station in the UK before boarding.

What’s on board?

Eurostar trains have lots of space for luggage, generous leg room and comfy seats. Snacks are available at Café Metropole, the onboard bar buffet.

Most trains have free wi-fi, onboard entertainment and sockets at your seat. There are toilets in every coach, disabled toilets and accessible boarding.

TGVs have a bar buffet and sockets and wi-fi in First class.

Changing trains in Paris

If you’re taking Eurostar direct to Marseille St Charles you’ll need to change to a local train for Toulon. These run every 30 minutes and take about an hour.

If you’re changing in Paris Gare du Nord, make your way to Gare de Lyon, this is direct on RER line D, direction Melun or Malesherbes and takes about 30 minutes.

In Lille, it is just a change of platform.

Taking time out in Toulon

If you need a change of pace, seek out sunshine, sandy beaches and seriously good seafood in Toulon. There’s plenty for history lovers, culture vultures and sports fans, too.

Best for basking

Follow le sentier du littoral (the coastal path) from the Tour Royale to Anse Magaud to visit all the best beaches.

Stop off for ice cream or a cold beer at one of the many cafés en route.

How much luggage can I bring with me on the Eurostar when travelling to Brussels?
