Metropolitan magazine by Eurostar
Our much-loved lifestyle and travel magazine
Our much-loved lifestyle and travel magazine
Searching for some top-notch destination inspiration? Look no further than our lifestyle and travel magazine.
Every issue, we bring you the latest from the buzzing cultural scenes in our European cities, taking in new restaurants, slick exhibitions, unmissable festivals, and off-the-beaten-track neighbourhoods.
Metropolitan magazine is produced in three languages by an enthusiastic and diverse group of journalists, illustrators, and photographers. And it comes out every quarter, so we have plenty of time to pack in lots of local news, reviews, interviews, hot spots, and trends.
Discover some of Metropolitan magazine’s features:
The Edit
A rundown of our faves and saves from across our destinations. It includes The Hot List – our glanceable guide to what’s hot in our cities. You’ll find plenty of quirky and eco-conscious recommendations here, from travel accessories to must-try bagels.
This section of our lifestyle and travel magazine is also where we shine a spotlight on a happening neighbourhood and talk celebrities into letting us know where they hang out (or, at the very least, order a takeaway).
We also organise a bona fide blind date in every issue. But there’s more about that below.
Omnivore
At Metropolitan magazine, we’re as obsessed with food as you are. Omnivore is where we review at least three must-visit restaurants and seek out the best street food and affordable eats.
Forget overpriced tables or disappointing dishes. Our food writers get what makes a wonderful meal out, and we all know it’s not just about what’s on your plate.
We also take the time to interview some superstar chefs and up-and-coming talents. Previous interviewees include Mory Sacko, Jackson Boxer, and Apollonia Poilâne.
By Design
Get your style fix and know where to shop or stay. By Design has everything from fashion tips and epic interiors to the hottest hotel reviews.
Grassroots projects and recommendations also get their share of the limelight. Learn about emerging talents and local entrepreneurs with big ideas – from budding artists to writers, design graduates and shopkeepers.
And, whether you’re into boho chic or more of a fashion house fan, don’t miss My Style. This is the part of our lifestyle and travel magazine where we get sartorial steers and in-the-know shopping tips from a local personality.
Agenda
Wondering how to spend your stay? Or maybe you just want a bit of destination inspiration? Our local writers have done all the hard work for you. Agenda lifts the lid on the most interesting events across each of our destinations.
Whether you live in Paris, Brussels or Cologne, are a history buff, culture vulture, or horticultural hotshot, you’ll likely find something to get excited about.
We like to think of this section of Metropolitan magazine as the ultimate European cultural highlights calendar, covering both blockbuster and alternative events.
Blind date
A beloved couple of pages in our lifestyle and travel magazine that are completely one-off (we’re sure you’ll fall head over heels for them, too).
We organise a bona fide blind date in every issue, matchmaking people from different Eurostar cities. We then send them off into the night together (with a photographer as a chaperone).
While hopping from buzzing bars to joyous jazz clubs, our couple get to know each other and tell us every little detail. When the fun’s over, they rate their date and potentially swap numbers.
