Connecting in Paris between Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord

Public transport is a practical way to get from Gare de Lyon to Paris Gare du Nord when changing trains. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Here's what to do:

  1. When you arrive at Gare de Lyon, follow the signs to the RER station located at the far end of Hall 3. Buy a Navigo Easy pass at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If you want to beat the queues, you can also buy a Metro-Train-RER ticket ahead of your trip using the Île-de-France Mobilités (opens in a new tab)or Bonjour RATP (opens in a new tab) app.
  2. Follow the signs to RER line D nord (north), and board any RER D train heading north (to Orry la Ville/Coye la Forêt, Goussainville or Villiers le Bel/Gonesse Arnouville).
  3. Get off the train at Paris Gare du Nord.
  4. Follow signs for Grandes Lignes.

• If you're travelling to Belgium, the Netherlands or Germany, look for the platform your train will depart from on the departures board. Find your platform and be ready to board your Eurostar train at least 10 minutes before departure.

• If you’re travelling on to the UK, follow signs for 'Hall 2/London departures' up to the first-floor mezzanine. Please ensure you get there well before the ticket gates close – You’ll need to allow plenty of time to go through security and passport control.

Arrival in Dijon

After a relaxing journey through the French countryside, you'll arrive at Dijon-Ville station – right in the heart of the city, just a short 15-minute stroll from the historic centre. There's no border control when you arrive, so step off the train and head straight into town.

The station has cafés for a quick refreshment, plus excellent transport links, including buses and taxis to whisk you to your hotel. Arriving early or leaving late? Pop your bags in a luggage locker and dive straight into exploring Dijon's cobbled streets, market halls and medieval architecture.
