Luggage allowances by ticket type
Adults
If you’re travelling with an adult ticket, you can take:
- 2 pieces of luggage (up to 85cm long) including rucksacks, bags, suitcases or ski equipment
- 1 small piece of hand luggage, e.g. handbag, laptop bag or briefcase
Pushchairs and prams travel for free in addition to your individual allowance. You’ll just need to fold your pram and store it in the luggage rack above your seat.
Business Premier
If you’re travelling with a Business Premier ticket, you can take:
- 3 pieces of luggage (up to 85cm long) including rucksacks, bags, suitcases or ski equipment
- 1 small piece of hand luggage, e.g. handbag, laptop bag or briefcase
Child luggage allowance
Kids travelling on a child’s ticket can take:
- 1 piece of luggage (up to 85cm long)
- 1 piece of hand luggage
Children under 4 travel free with Eurostar, so they don’t need a ticket . They have no luggage allowance and they’ll need to sit on a grown-up’s lap as they have no allocated seat.
Need help with your luggage?
If you’re travelling alone with little ones, simply ask one of our team at the station and we’ll do our best to help you get everything from check-in to the train. Just bear in mind that we may have to help people with reduced mobility first.
If you’ll need help at your destination too, please let us know before you board.
Extra luggage
If you’d like to take more than the standard luggage allowance with you, or items over 85cm long, you’ll need to use EuroDespatch, our registered luggage service. We can send items to or from London, Paris, Lille and Brussels. The maximum size for registered luggage is 2m long.
Can I send it on ahead of me?
You can send your luggage up to a week before you travel, then collect it when you arrive. We’ll keep it at the luggage office at your destination for 14 days.
Unfortunately, we can’t accept any registered items, or those over 85cm long, to or from Ashford, Ebbsfleet, Calais, Disneyland® Paris, Lyon, Avignon, Marseille or any of our ski destinations.
If you have reduced mobility and need a helping hand with your luggage, find out more about Eurostar Assist.
