Travelling in Premium

Welcome to travel with extra flexibility. We’ll take care of you throughout your entire journey – from boarding at the platform, all the way to your destination. Plus, you can exchange your ticket with no fees whenever you need to, or cancel your trip up to an hour after departure. Simply sit back and relax – Premium moves with you.

The Premium travel experience

Award-winning food served at your seat

Whenever you travel Premium, you’ll be served delicious meals and drinks at your seat. Our trains have a specially-designed menu from Frank Fol, The Vegetable Chef® which has been awarded the Food Made Good label from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

Room to move

Premium travel comes with extra space to stretch. So make the most of the room and relax all the way to your destination.

A connected way to travel

Our fast trains come with fast wi-fi. And with Premium, you’ll get wi-fi+. That means a faster connection and extra data. Sit back and enjoy browsing time or catch up on work as you travel, and recharge your batteries with power sockets at each seat.

Browse your favourite publications online

With Premium, you’ll have access to a catalogue of digital magazines and newspapers. Simply connect to and visit the ‘ePress’ section. You can also browse in our lounges in Brussels and Paris.

Travel with more freedom

Bring two bags up to 85cm and one piece of hand luggage for no extra charge and with no weight limits. There are no restrictions on liquids (so bring something bubbly for the journey).

Family travel made easy

Our trains and destinations are ideal for getting away with the family.

Children under 12 can travel for a small fee of €40/£35 (excluding seasonal destinations). Kids under four can travel for free, provided they sit on an adult’s lap throughout the journey. To guarantee a seat, you can buy a child fare ticket.

We also have baby changing facilities in coaches 7, 17 and 27 to help you take care of your little ones. See more about travelling with children.

A sustainable way to travel

Travelling on our trains also means emitting around 20 times less CO₂ than by car and 30 times less CO₂ than by aeroplane*.

*The analysis by EcoRes uses average CO₂ emissions per passenger travelling 1km. The calculations used 2022 internal data from the entire Eurostar-Thalys network (annual consumption of traction electricity, number of passengers transported, number of km travelled by these passengers), and CO₂ emission factors attributed to traction electricity produced in the respective countries crossed. For thermal cars, the emissions factor used is average for a combustion-powered car (averaged fuel) on a long-distance journey at 171gCO₂/km considering 2.2 person per car, taken from the ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) Carbon Base. Calculations for the average CO₂ emissions per passenger for flights used combustion emissions from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) calculator, with additional upstream emissions data (WTT) based on DGAC (direction Générale de l’aviation civile) ratio of 22%. Non-CO₂ effects (condensation trails and cirrus clouds) were not taken into account. More information on
