Nicolas Petrovic, Chief Executive Officer
Nicolas became CEO of Eurostar in April 2010. He joined as Director of Customer Services, London, in August 2003 before spending almost four years as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his tenure at Eurostar, Nicolas worked for SNCF as the Secretary General for Direction Grandes Lignes and Operational General Manager for the Paris Saint-Lazare area. In addition to his extensive experience in the transport industry in both the UK and France, Nicolas gained an MBA from INSEAD in 2003.
James Cheesewright, Chief Financial Officer
James joined Eurostar in August 2010, just as the company was established as a single, unified corporate entity.
He joined from Misys Plc, the banking and healthcare software provider, where he enjoyed a number of senior general management and finance roles, most recently as Group Vice President, Corporate Finance and including leading the Banking and Risk Management software divisions. Prior to Misys, James spent 12 years at Cable & Wireless Plc, the international telecommunications provider, in both senior general management and finance roles, including six years overseas.
Mary Walsh, Director of Communications
Mary joined Eurostar in October 2009 and is responsible for managing communications with the media, stakeholders and employees. Mary joined Eurostar from Lloyds TSB Group where she spent 10 years as Head of Media Relations and then as Director of Corporate Relations. She began her career in PR consultancy at Ogilvy and Mather running campaigns for a range of corporate and consumer businesses. Prior to Lloyds TSB she was Director of Public Relations for PKF.
Philippe Mouly, Chief Operating Officer
Philippe Mouly joined Eurostar in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Before moving to Eurostar, Philippe held a number of senior positions in the French national railway company, SNCF, including Director of Train Managers, Chief of Operations and TGV Fleet Manager for SNCF Voyages, and Director of TGV Atlantique.
Nicholas Mercer, Commercial Director
Nick joined Eurostar in 2003 as Commercial Director. He has 30 years business experience having previously held Sales and Marketing Director positions at Air Miles (now called Avios), Misys, First Direct and Sky (for their interactive TV service). He started his career in the airline industry. As Commercial Director Nick has overall responsibility for sales, pricing and revenue management, marketing and distribution including eurostar.com and the Eurostar Contact Centre. Nick serves as a member of the Eurostar International Board.
Marc Noaro, Chief Customer Officer
Marc joined Eurostar just before its launch in 1994 and held a number of operational roles before becoming Head of Customer Service in 2003. He then spent two years as HR Director before returning to Customer Services as Director in 2006. His responsibilities now include HR, Station Operations, On board Services, Catering, Security and Traveller Care.
Gareth Williams, Strategy Director and Company Secretary
Gareth joined Eurostar in June 2011 from the Department for Transport (DfT), bringing with him 20 years' experience in UK government and an in-depth knowledge of the rail industry. Gareth leads on the development and appraisal of Eurostar’s strategic choices and new business proposals, as well as all regulatory matters, working alongside other business functions to advise on issues affecting Eurostar where government legislation or industry regulation is involved. In addition, Gareth heads up the Legal team and serves the Eurostar board as Company Secretary.
Laurent Bellan, Chief Information Officer
Laurent Bellan joined Eurostar as Head of Customer Systems in 2012, becoming Chief Information Officer (CIO) three years later.
Before Eurostar, Laurent spent ten years at the global pharmaceutical company, Bristol Myers Squibb, where he was IT Director for the French business and then Director for Enterprise Web in the US.
Roberto Abbondio, Managing Director, New Digital Business
Roberto joined Eurostar in 2017. As MD New Digital Business, he is in charge of strategic projects aimed at engaging the customer with innovative and relevant ancillary propositions. Roberto joined from Cathay Pacific where he served as Managing Director Cathay Pacific Holidays in Hong Kong, leading its transition to a modern digitalised one-stop shop for the airline. Prior to that he was part of the start-up of Hostelbookers.com and he worked for Expedia as Business Development Director for their b2b division, based in Paris. In his early career, after his Political Economics degree at Bocconi in Milan, Roberto covered various roles at British Airways, including country commercial manager Argentina and other revenue management positions.
