Connecting in Paris from Gare Montparnasse to Gare du Nord

To catch your Eurostar train to your final destination, public transport is a practical way to get from Gare Montparnasse to Paris Gare du Nord when changing trains. The journey takes around 45 minutes. Here's what to do:

1. When you arrive at Gare Montparnasse, follow the M signs to the Paris Métro station 'Montparnasse-Bienvenüe'. Buy a t+ ticket at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If you want to beat the queues, you can also buy a Metro-Train ticket ahead of your trip using the Île-de-France Mobilités or Bonjour RATP app.
2. Follow the signs to Métro line 4 and board an M4 train towards Porte de Clignancourt.
3. Get off the train at Paris Gare du Nord.
4. Follow the signs for 'Grandes Lignes'.

• If you're travelling to Belgium, the Netherlands or Germany, look for the platform your train will depart from on the departures board. Find your platform and be ready to board your Eurostar train at least 10 minutes before departure.
• If you’re travelling on to the UK, follow the signs for 'Hall 2/London departures' up to the first-floor mezzanine. Please ensure you get there well before the ticket gates close – you’ll need to allow plenty of time to go through security and passport control.

Arriving at St Pancras International station

Your train will arrive right in the heart of London at St Pancras International, one of the most elegant stations in the world. As border checks take place before departure, you can simply hop off the train and leave the station.

St Pancras International is well connected to Underground lines and buses. There's also a black cab stand right outside and King's Cross station is just across the road if you have a connecting train.
