Infants can travel for free on an adult’s lap and just need a passport. You can only take one infant per adult.

Take the train to Nice

Leave from St Pancras International, conveniently located in the centre of London. Arrive at the station just 30 minutes before your train departs for a hassle-free check-in, with no weight or liquid restrictions on your luggage. 


Once through security and passport control you can step straight on board and get settled in for your trip to Paris.

What’s on board?

You’ll find racks at the carriage entrance for large bags, and space above your seat for smaller pieces of luggage.

Seats come equipped with either a UK or a continental plug socket, making it easy to work or watch films on your own device using our free wi-fi and onboard entertainment.

Connecting in Paris

Once at Gare du Nord, hop on RER line D to Gare de Lyon, it’s direct and takes around 30 minutes.  Taxis take around 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Your ticket will show your TGV carriage and seat number in either 1st or 2nd class.  Don’t be surprised if you’re on a double decker for your trip to Nice Ville station, they’re quite common in France.

Free and cheap in Nice

  • Stroll round the grounds of Palais Masséna.
  • Chill out on the sandy beach at Villefranche-sur-Mer.
  • Follow the pretty hiking path around the peninsula of St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

Food, glorieux food

  • Start with pissaladière – a flatbread topped with caramelised onions, olives and anchovies -  en apéro with a pastis.
  • Try panisses – golden chickpea fritters – better than chips.
