Best places to shop in Paris

Whether you're looking for luxury brands or prefer shopping at more wallet-friendly places, Paris has something for everyone. The Galeries Lafayette department store is a good place to start with its decent mix of designer collections, home furnishings, cosmetics and accessories. The building alone is worth seeing for its stunning art Nouveau dome.

You can also try Bon Marché, the oldest department store in Paris. Designed by architects Gustave Eiffel and Louis-Charles Boileau, you'll find luxury boutiques and designer labels (be sure to check out the food hall too).

Alternatively, St Germain des Prés in the 6th arrondissement offers popular high street brands as well as smaller boutiques along the rue du Four. Bring back sequinned brooches or perfumed skin mists for your loved ones or walk through one of Paris’s charming neighbourhoods for some inspiration.

If flea markets and vintage shopping is more your style, you'll have plenty of options to choose from. Here is a selection of our top shopping picks.
