Eurostar announces increased availability of tickets from Monday 22 September to Thursday 25 September 2008

19 Sep 2008

--Sales are open from 08.00 (BST)--No availability from Friday 19 September to Sunday 21 September and Friday 26 September to 28 September
Eurostar the high speed passenger train operator which links the UK with the continent has today announced that there will be extra availability on some services from Monday 22 September to Thursday 25 September. Sales will be opened at 08.00 (BST) tomorrow (19 September)
The Eurostar train service remains restricted, following the incident in the Channel Tunnel on 11 September. Journey times are extended and waiting times in stations will be longer.
Eurostar has successfully operated around 60% of its normal timetable. The first priority was to ensure that customers who were already ticketed or affected by the suspension of services could complete their journeys.
Demand at weekends (Friday – Sunday) remains very high and passengers with tickets for travel during 19-21 September and 26-28 September continue to be advised to exchange their tickets for travel at a later date or obtain a refund.
The Eurostar Contact Centre is experiencing particularly high call volumes and travellers are advised to visit or contact a travel agent or tour operator to book Eurostar tickets.
Eurotunnel, the operator of the Channel Tunnel, is working hard to enable additional Eurostar services to be restored and more information will be communicated when it is available.
Eurostar thanks its travellers for their continued patience and understanding.
