Eurostar, the international passenger train operator which links the UK with France and Belgium, today (26/6/6) launches its art exhibit "Aphrodite's Battlewagon" by Rosemary Masson, at Waterloo International for Visit London's Exhibit V, which celebrates art, London landmarks and promotes the British International Motor Show's return to London for the first time in 30 years.
Eurostar is the "International High-Speed Partner" to the British International Motor Show 20-30 July which was formerly held at the NEC Birmingham and has relocated to London Docklands ExCel exhibition centre.
More Continental visitors than previously are now choosing to travel by Eurostar from Paris, Brussels and Lille. Over 500,000 visitors are expected over the exhibition period which promises to be more interactive and bigger and better than ever before.
Eurostar's exhibit at Waterloo International is located on the departures concourse and will be able to be seen by thousands of international travellers plus many thousands of commuters using the domestic station. The other four art exhibits which comprise Exhibit V are at The Royal Exchange, Covent Garden Market, Kensington Gardens and London Zoo
Artist, Rosemary Masson, has found inspiration from the Greek and Roman department at the British Museum to use a modern interpretation of some of these iconic images from charcoal drawings. Rosemary has created a scene which incorporates Aphrodite, warriors and the emblematic Griffin. The work has then been applied to a Vauxhall Zafira.
Eurostar's Communications Director, Simon Montague, said: "It's great news the British International Motor Show is back in London. It gives visitors from France and Belgium the opportunity to do an easy day trip on Eurostar to visit the show which is a truly international event."
The British International Motor Show's principal partners are Visit London, Vauxhall and Magic FM.
