Eurostar expands London - Brussels service with more peak services

29 Dec 2003

Eurostar has responded to increased demand on its London - Brussels route by launching a ninth daily service between the two capitals from 5 January 2004. The new service will be Eurostar's first non-stop London-Brussels train. The extra service means that Eurostar now offers business travellers hourly departures from London to the Belgian capital during the morning peak. The new non-stop service departs London at 07.43 and arrives in Brussels at 11.03 - a journey time of 2 hours 20 minutes.
Business travellers will also benefit from the re-timing of late afternoon and evening services on the Brussels-London route. Services now depart at approximately hourly intervals - giving greater flexibility for business travellers returning from meetings in Brussels and other Belgian cities.
From Brussels, the additional train departs at 08.13 arriving in Waterloo at 09.28 - a journey time of just 2 hours 15 minutes. This is the fastest ever timetabled Eurostar journey time between Brussels and London.
Eurostar's Communications Director Paul Charles commented: "Introducing additional services and speeding up journey times enables Eurostar to deliver the fast flexible service that business travellers demand."Combined with the fact that Eurostar tickets to Brussels now include travel to and from any Belgian station for no extra charge, Eurostar is clearly the first choice for travel between London and Brussels. "Eurostar continues to increase its market share on the London-Brussels route as passengers desert the airlines for the train."
