From the great height of the 871 metre (2,857 foot) Uetliberg mountain you can admire a breathtaking panorama of Zurich and its lake, against the stunning snowy mountains. Zurich is a well-placed base for skiers and snowboarders, and you'll find all the equipment you could ever need at Alpraush. In the summer, head to Atzmännig for an exciting ride on the 700m summer toboggan run.
A real must-see in Zurich, the National Museum of Switzerland is situated in a fairytale-like castle and contains the finest collection of art and artefacts documenting the history of Swiss civilization. At the museum of contemporary art, the Kunsthaus, you'll find some splendid works of art, likewise, at the Rietburg Museum which specialises in non-European art: add them to your travel itinerary.
An ambassador of fine wine, Zurich organises Expovina: The Zurich International Wine Fair. Around 4,000 wines from 22 countries and 5 continents will be available on the Bürkliplatz square: get tasting and take home a some of your favourite. Or if beer appeals more, don't miss the Zurich Beer Festival (Oktoberfest) which is celebrated by all: Zurich is a German-speaking city after all, and the culture comes with it.
