Travelling with your bike on Eurostar
You can take your bike from certain stations on some Eurostar routes, so take a look at the information below before you go.
Folding Bicycles can be taken on any Eurostar train, as long as they’re smaller than 85cm when fully folded, and in a protective case that covers the whole bike. This is to protect both your bike and other people’s luggage.
If you don’t have a case, you can send your bike with our registered luggage service, EuroDespatch.
All non-folding bikes or those over 85cm long will need to travel with EuroDespatch. This is available from London, Paris, Lille and Brussels, and there are a couple of options:
- You can put your bike in a padded bike bag or bike box. We can provide a box for you, which is included in the service price and this is the best option for protecting your bike.
- If you’d prefer to keep your bike fully assembled, EuroDespatch has a limited number of spaces per train, so you’ll need to call us for availability.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept any non-folding bikes or those over 85cm long to or from Ashford, Ebbsfleet, Calais, Disneyland® Paris and our ski destinations.
Book on the day (bike travels on the first available train): 29€*
Please go to the SNCB luggage office next to check-in when you arrive at Brussels Midi station.
To book your bike before you travel you will need to call our UK office on +44 3448 225 822 or email us at email@example.com. We will process a payment in pounds sterling of £30 to confirm your reservation.
* While we’ll always do our best to make sure your bike travels on your train, please note that spaces are subject to availability. We guarantee that your bike will arrive at its destination station with 24 hours.
Lyon, Avignon and Marseille
We’re not able to accept non-folding bikes or those over 85cm long on Eurostar trains between London or Ashford and Lyon, Avignon and Marseille, but we can arrange for your bike to be delivered door-to-door with First Luggage. As a Eurostar traveller, you’ll get an exclusive discount.
These requirements only apply to Eurostar. So, if your trip involves a connecting train with another company, it’s best to check with them before you book.
