Connecting via Gare de Bercy

That's where you'll find your connecting station, train numbers and information on connecting stations. Just to let you know, all the times listed are local times.

 

You can either take the RER and Métro (underground) from Gare du Nord to Gare de Bercy, or take the RER and walk. You can also take a taxi.

In the know

  • Métro tickets won't be included in your journey. You can buy Parisian Métro or RER(suburban trains) tickets in packs of 10, called carnet, at Eurostar terminals and onboard Eurostar trains or at one of the ticket desks or self service ticket machines in all Métro/RER stations (like Gare du Nord). If you're making a return journey, you can buy your return tickets at the same time, since Métro and RER tickets can be used on any day.
  • Keep hold of your Métro tickets – you might need them to exit the station when you arrive.

From Paris Gare du Nord to Gare de Bercy

By RER and Métro
The journey from Paris Gare du Nord to Gare de Bercy usually takes around 30 minutes, depending on how busy the RER is.

When you arrive in Paris Gare du Nord, walk towards the front of Eurostar train and exit to the main station concourse. The Métro and RER (suburban trains) entrances are on your left - look up and follow the signs for RER Line D.

From Gare du Nord, take RER line D direct to Gare de Lyon. To find your platform, follow the signs for line D and check the departure boards for trains towards Melun or Malesherbes.

There are usually two stops between Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon, but all trains on line D stop in Gare de Lyon.

Once in Gare de Lyon Métro/RER station, look up for signs marked Métro line 14 (towards direction Olympiades). Get off at Bercy Métro stop and follow the Gare de Bercy exit signs. Gare de Bercy is 100 metres walk from Bercy Métro stop.

You can also walk from Gare de Lyon (about 950 metres), if you prefer, or take the free bus to Gare de Bercy, which leaves every half an hour.

By taxi
The journey from Paris Gare du Nord to Gare de Bercy usually takes around 25 minutes, depending on traffic. There might also be a long queue for taxis during busy periods.

When you arrive at Gare du Nord, walk towards the front of the Eurostar train and turn right. Follow the Taxis sign, exit the station and you'll find the taxi rank right there. The drop off area in Gare de Bercy is in front of the railway station. When you arrive at Gare de Bercy, follow the Accès aux trains sign to get to main station concourse and platforms.

Once you're in Gare de Bercy, look for your train number and departure time on the departure boards. Remember, your destination might not be the final destination of your train, so be sure check where it's stopping.

If you have a little time to spend in Gare de Bercy before your train leaves, you'll find a departure lounge and a few cafés in the station to while away the wait.

Things to remember before boarding

  • Remember to validate (composter in French) your tickets in the yellow machines on the platform or main station concourse before boarding the TGV/InterCity train
  • Before boarding your TGV/InterCity train, follow the sign saying composition des trains on the platform to find your carriage
  • There's no check-in time for TGV/InterCity trains, so you can just hop on and find a seat whenever you're ready

From Gare de Bercy to Paris Gare du Nord

By RER and Métro
The journey from Gare de Bercy to Paris Gare du Nord usually takes around 30 minutes, depending on how busy the RER is.

When you arrive in Gare de Bercy, walk towards the front of the train to the main station concourse and follow the Métro signs for M14, 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. Follow the signs for M14 direction Saint Lazare and take Métro line 14 from Gare de Bercy to Gare de Lyon (just one stop).

Once you're in Gare du Nord Métro station, follow the signs for Trains Grandes Lignes towards the main Gare du Nord station concourse. Follow the signs for Eurostar Departures for check-in. You'll need to allow at least 30 minutes check in for your Eurostar train, or 10 minutes if you're in Business Premier.

Walk
You can also walk from Gare de Bercy to Gare de Lyon.

From Gare de Lyon Métro/RER station, follow the signs for RER line D (towards Orry la Ville Coye) trains to Gare du Nord. These trains usually leave from platform 2 and there are usually two stops between Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord, although all RER trains on line D stop at Gare du Nord.

Once you're in Gare du Nord Métro station, follow the signs for Trains Grandes Lignes towards the main Gare du Nord station concourse. Follow the signs for Eurostar Departures for check-in. You'll need to allow at least 30 minutes check in for your Eurostar train, or 10 minutes if you're in Business Premier.
