In order to deliver a safe and punctual service during Euro 2016, we will be working on the advice of the police authorities in the UK and France to operate a restricted alcohol policy on some of our services.
This means that at certain times during the tournament, no alcohol will be permitted in our stations, on-board or in our departure lounges.
If you're looking for a place for a stay in the mountains with your family Bourg Saint Maurice is ideal. This authentic town is very well connected by train allowing for easy access at any time of year. With plenty of sporting activities on offer all year round, "Bourg" as it is known will keep everyone happy. The group of mountain villages which make up Les Arcs Bourg Saint Maurice are as popular in summer as they are in winter.
In the snowy months the whole family will have the opportunity to get some colour in their cheeks: with skiing, snowboarding, toboganning, and a whole host of other snow boards to choose from you'll be spoilt for choice. The Arcs, the town's four ski stations at different heights are well known: Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and the highest, Arc 2000.
In summer the internationally popular white water rafting spot on the Isère is a great place to try out rafting and kayaking. You'll also find hiking, mountain biking, hangliding, hydro, tennis and golf on offer for a thoroughly active holiday.
This small town has big ambitions: several high level competitions take place here, such as the Speed Skiing French Championships, the French Skijoring Championships, National Ski Mountaineering Championships (Trace de Vaugel), and the Cyclo-Cœur Ski World Cup. It is also a stage on the Tour de France and the Ultra Trail (Mont Blanc Tour).
This traditional Savoy town is very much an Alpine town in terms of food - plenty of delicious local cheese features on the menu. In a typical local restaurant in Bourg-Saint-Maurice you'll find the likes of tartiflette, raclette and fondue on offer. An abundance of charcuterie also features: you'll need to build up your strength for all that fresh air and exercise. Every year in June the town puts on its party hat for the Edelweiss Festival. Parades, craft fairs, folk singing and traditional dancing are all on the programme. Every summer the Bernard Taillefer Golf Challenge, named after the town's architect, offers pairs of golfers the chance to compete. You're in for a sporting, but relaxing, stay in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
