Eurostar launches e-Vouchers on Eurostar.com

28 Feb 2005
  • Eurostar Frequent Traveller online presence expanded
  • New online customer care service launched

Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service that links the UK with France and Belgium, has introduced eVouchers for sale and redemption on its website Eurostar.com.
The electronic gift vouchers - available in denominations of £1, £5, £10, £20, £50 and £100 - make an ideal present for friends or family and are sent directly to the recipient by email. The eVoucher uses a secure code that the customer enters online at the payment stage.
Eurostar.com now also offers Eurostar's full range of traditional 'paper' gift vouchers. These are mailed out to the purchaser and can be used to purchase Eurostar tickets at Eurostar's UK terminals or from the Eurostar Contact Centre.
Eurostar has also improved the Frequent Traveller section on Eurostar.com - introducing a new navigation system and added functionality in the members' section.
Eurostar Frequent Traveller members can now view their statements online and check points earned and redeemed. Members can now also use a new simple online redemption form to exchange their points for Eurostar tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals or gifts.
An online customer care service has been introduced to answer customer questions quickly and to help them track down relevant information on Eurostar.com. The service functions like a search engine with customers entering questions or key words and being offered the relevant response. If a question cannot be answered directly it can be emailed to the internet support team in the Eurostar Contact Centre for a personal response.
Eurostar has also enhanced its online 'virtual tours', which enable customers to sample a Eurostar journey - from ticket purchase to onboard the train - before they leave they travel. The tri-lingual audio-visual tours provide a great 'taster' of the Eurostar experience before passengers leave their home!
Paul Charles, Director of Communications, Eurostar, said: "The internet is Eurostar's fastest growing sales channel and we are keen to make it as customer friendly as possible. The website is now even easier to use and, with the addition of our eVouchers offers a great way to treat your friends of family to a fantastic gift.
"Enhancing the Frequent Traveller section delivers these passengers a unique personalised service and ensures that they can get the most out of their membership of the scheme."
