Baggage

Baggage

When you travel with Eurostar, you don’t usually need to check your luggage in. Each passenger can take up to 2 medium-sized items (85cm at their maximum length) with them on board, plus 1 small item of hand luggage. What’s more, provided none of your items are longer than 85cm at their longest length, there aren’t any weight restrictions. Of course, we do still need to make sure there is enough room for everybody’s bags, so if you bring more than the allowance mentioned above, you may need to pay an excess luggage charge of £25 per item.

Ski train luggage? Find out more about your luggage allowance on our ski trains.

Anything larger than 85cm at its maximum length will need to be transported by our registered baggage service (see below). You should also take a moment to look at our full list of prohibited items.

Registered baggage

If you’re travelling with any additional items, any bulky items such as trunks or bicycles, or any sporting and collectors’ weapons or knives, you’ll need to use our registered baggage service.

This service applies only between London – Paris, London – Brussels and London – Lille in both directions and applies to no other Eurostar destination or beyond those stations listed above.

Your baggage will be forwarded on the next available departure, space permitting. However, our guarantee is that your baggage will be available to collect at your Eurostar destination station within 24 hours after registration.

This service also allows you to send your baggage in advance of your journey and then it will be ready to collect when you arrive at your Eurostar destination. However, you may still register your baggage shortly before your departure but please note there is a 30 minute check-in requirement prior to departure.

Items accepted as registered baggage and charges
Baggage, suitcases, bags etc (Maximum weight 30kg per item)     £18
 Sporting and collectors’ weapons     £30
 Bicycles     £25
Large unwieldy items (eg. large musical instruments     £30

Group luggage

We realise that luggage can be extremely cumbersome when you are travelling in a group. For that reason, we are more than happy to help.

If you are planning to travel to London, Paris or Brussels, Eurostar offers fast and efficient luggage check-in facilities at the three main international terminals.

Check in your luggage first when you arrive at the station and we will take care of the rest ensuring that the luggage is stored safely on your train and unloaded upon arrival at your destination.

You might also simply be travelling on business and have more than your recommended luggage allowance (2 items of luggage and 1 piece of hand luggage). Or you might be a film crew travelling with equipment, an orchestra with heavy bulky instruments, students, a small party travelling for a meeting with conference materials or a group of cyclists with bikes.

Simply relax and enjoy your journey with us in comfort and style while we take care of all your luggage, ensuring it arrives as quickly as you do.

We don’t simply make your journey easier on Eurostar. We do a lot more. If you are making a connection at our terminal at Brussels Midi/Zuid we can transfer luggage between trains.

Paris and Beyond
Making a connection in Paris? As well as being able to assist at our Paris Nord terminal, we can also arrange assistance in advance at all other Paris terminals as well Strasbourg, Aix en Provence TGV, Avignon TGV, Bordeaux, Marseille and Toulon.

Feel free to call us on +44(0)8705 850 850  or email us at group.baggage@eurostar.com to find out more and get a quote and make a reservation.
