ROLE: - My role is Business Analyst in Finance
DURATION: - I’ve been at Eurostar since September 2004.
LOCATION:- I am based at Times House, King's Cross

I’m responsible for management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, ad hoc projects and working on the development of the Five Year Business Plan.  I look after the Commercial department.

There are many things that I like about my role. I like the good balance between routine, structured work and ad-hoc project work. I also get exposure to such a variety of people across the business – working on cross-functional teams trying to drive the business forward. I’m seen as (well, I hope I am!) objective and supportive, often as a facilitator, helping to improve communication between and within departments – being more than just ‘Finance’. I also like the human side of things in terms of people development, the strong support network, teamwork and having a degree of flexibility in managing my own time.

Working for Eurostar is challenging as I have to juggle financial and sometimes human constraints. It’s supportive in that there’s a strong teamwork ethic and it’s not too hierarchical: line managers and directors seem to care what you think and how you’re feeling. It’s also fun! There’s a definite camaraderie and we have departmental away days (finance and commercial), plus sporting events. Lastly, the location is brilliant!



ROLE: - I am currently a Team Leader working for Eurostar Esprit which is the logistics part of the company within the Finance department.
DURATION: - I've been working here for five years now.
LOCATION:-Euro-Despatch Centre, St Pancras International

The things that I like best about working for Eurostar are that I get to meet and help customers, I'm able to manage a team, I'm able to make a difference in my role and I have a sense of belonging. If I had to say what Eurostar was like to work for, I would say that it's a recognised brand name with an excellent image; it's modern and developing, there's a great team spirit and employees enjoy considerable benefits after certain qualifying periods.
