Tread Lightly with the Young People’s Trust for the Environment
Win the chance to put your views to the people in charge

We're working with the Young People's Trust for the Environment to offer a truly unique prize. If you are aged between 10 and 18, you could win a day trip to Brussels to discuss your views with Members of the European Parliament, an ipod shuffle and a return ticket for a family of four to Paris or Brussels.

It's a chance for Europe's top decision makers in Brussels to listen to a new generation of environmental champions: tell them what they've got right, what's going wrong and what you'd do differently. Or just ask those questions that no one else has thought of.

How to enter
Send us a short video clip telling us what you think about sustainable travel and the environment, plus 100 written words on why you should win, all before 29 February 2012. The visit to the European Parliament will take place on 27th March 2012.

Our study shows a new generation of environmental champions
Working with the YPTE we recently asked 1000 young people their views on sustainability.

The results
The answers showed an impressive level of environmental awareness among young people: 86% of 10–12-year-olds said they do something every day to protect the environment; and 81% of 10–18-year-olds understood that the way you travel abroad can have an impact on the environment.

Find out more about the results.

Our partnership with the YPTE
The study is part of our new three-year partnership with the YPTE, a national charity encouraging young people's understanding of the environment.

The partnership will support free education on sustainability for up to 15,000 children. It's another part of our Tread Lightly programme to cut our own impact on the environment and encourage people to think differently about travel.
Young Persons Trust For the Environment
Tread Lightly is our programme to reduce our impact on the environment and encourage people to think differently about travel. We started in 2007 and since then it's become central to everything we do.
