Promotional Activity in Kent
The Bank Holiday weekend of 23/24th August, saw Ebbsfleet International's car park transformed into a drive-in movie venue. Two blockbuster films, the Bourne Ultimatum (Saturday) and Moulin Rouge (Sunday) were shown on two large outdoor screens. The event catered for up to 1000 people per night and the soundtrack was broadcast and received through car radios, coupled with that there was live entertainment, refreshments and toilet facilities.
For Eurostar, it was an innovative way of putting Ebbsfleet on the map and establishing its location (just 5 minutes from Bluewater) by actually getting people to come to the station, showing how accessible and easy to use the station is.
Tickets were snapped up from our shop at Bluewater shopping centre and on each night the car park was packed out. One onlooker stated: "Never in a million years did I think there would be a Drive-In in Ebbsfleet, I have lived here all my life and this is simply astonishing!"
A big thank you to all who attended this weekend and helped us achieve the success that the Drive-In deserved.
If you weren't lucky enough to be able to attend then not to worry, we are looking at the possibility of hosting similar events at Ebbsfleet International in the future.
