Ski Train Facilities

Trains night and day
Two services to suit you

During the running of our ski service we have two trains to get you to the Alps, one travelling by day, the other by night. Here are some of the highlights of each:

Day Train*
Pack your skis and salopettes on the Friday night and then wake up on Saturday fresh and ready to hop on the ski train. Along the way you can sit back and take in the breathtaking views outside your window; watch the mountain ranges unfurl before your very eyes and decide which one you’re going to conquer first. You’ll arrive in time for a first night fondue and a glass of vin chaud.

Night Train*
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of getting out of work on a Friday knowing that you’re about to embark on an eight-day skiing holiday. As you fall asleep you’ll feel a dizzy child-like anticipation brought on by the fact that when you wake up you’ll be in the midst of a wintry wonderland.

* Please see timetable for actual train schedule.

Meals on board
Food on board
Hungry on the Night Train?
In Leisure Select you’ll be served an evening meal with wine, followed by breakfast in the morning. What’s more if you feel like you need a little more fuel to prepare you for the slopes, you’ll find a tempting range of drinks or snacks at the bar-buffet which is open until midnight.

If you’re travelling Standard you’ll find everything you’re likely to need for sale in the bar-buffet. There’s a selection of quick and tasty snacks alongside a variety of wholesome, hearty meals, as well as an array of hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The bar-buffet is open until midnight and then reopens at 5am for breakfast.

Peckish on the Day Train?
In Leisure Select you’ll be served lunch with wine, followed by afternoon tea. And if you feel like a little something more, you’ll also find a tempting range of drinks and snacks for sale at the bar-buffet.

In Standard meanwhile you’ll find a selection of snacks and meals for sale in the bar-buffet, alongside a selection of hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Glass of beer
An alcohol limit which doesn’t limit your skiing

We’re all for raising a toast to your journey, but we’re not so keen on hell-raising drinking sessions and rowdy roistering in our carriages. We want to make sure everyone can enjoy their journey in peace so, with the help of some experts, we’ve put a few reasonable limits in place.

Here’s what you can take on board: up to 4 cans or bottles of beer, or one bottle of wine, or one 50cl bottle of spirits. Any more than that and we could confiscate the excess for the duration of the journey (and destroy it if needs be).

It may not be the best news in the world, but at least it will leave you fit to take on the slopes when you arrive fresh-faced and bright-eyed.
