Travel with Dennis to Paris by Eurostar!

Eurostar faces heavy demand from thousands of Arsenal fans…and the non-flying Dutchman

Eurostar, the high-speed train operator linking the UK and the Continent, was today preparing to carry thousands of Arsenal fans and Dennis Bergkamp, the legendary Dutch striker, to Paris for the Champions League final on 17 May 2006.

The Arsenal striker was so confident of victory against Villarreal that he told an interviewer he had already booked his Eurostar ticket - long before Arsenal had played last night’s semi-final!  The Dutchman’s dislike of flying is well known and he has been a regular Eurostar traveller during his time with the north London club.

Eurostar is advising Arsenal fans to book quickly as tickets are already selling fast.  Eurostar is the obvious choice for Arsenal fans because Arsenal’s north London home, Highbury, is much closer to Waterloo than to Heathrow or Luton and Eurostar’s Paris terminal, Gare du Nord, is just one train stop from Stade de France.

Simon Montague, Director of Communications, Eurostar, said: “We’d like to wish Arsenal the very best of luck for the final.  There are many Arsenal fans among Eurostar’s Anglo-French staff so their supporters will be sure to get a good send off at Waterloo.

“It will be a pleasure to welcome Dennis Bergkamp onboard.  Clearly, he knows that Eurostar really is the only way to travel from London to the Continent.”
