Cast and filmmakers of Columbia Pictures’ The Da Vinci Code ride Eurostar to Cannes
Cast will travel on unique Eurostar service to Cannes film festival
· Eurostar train will be named “The Da Vinci Code”
· First time cast and filmmakers have been re-united
· New Guinness World Record will be attempted today
The cast and filmmakers of Columbia Pictures’ The Da Vinci Code will travel today by Eurostar train to the Cannes Film Festival as they re-unite for the first time since making the movie.
Before setting off for Cannes, from London’s Waterloo International station, leading cast members will name a Eurostar train “The Da Vinci Code”. It will be the first time that a Eurostar train – which normally operates between London, Paris and Brussels – takes travellers from London to Cannes.
In another first, the Eurostar will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest non-stop international train journey, over a distance of 1,421kms from London to Cannes. An official from Guinness World Records will be onboard to certify the record-breaking attempt.
The cast and filmmakers are travelling to Cannes the day before the global premiere of The Da Vinci Code at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17th. The film will be released worldwide on May 19th 2006.

From director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, (the Oscar®-winning team of A Beautiful Mind), and producer John Calley (the Oscar®-nominated The Remains of the Day), comes the film version of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, one of the most popular and talked about novels of our time, with a cast headed by two-time Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Sir Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Jürgen Prochnow, Paul Bettany and Jean Reno. Produced by Grazer and Calley, The Da Vinci Code (www.SoDarkTheConOfMan.com) involves a thrilling murder investigation that unearths the biggest cover-up in human history.
The Eurostar train, which will also be wrapped in the movie’s branding, will be unveiled at Waterloo International by stars Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, and director Ron Howard.
