Eurostar voted World's Leading Rail Service

Eurostar has been awarded one of the travel industry’s top awards, scooping the prestigious ‘World’s Leading Rail Service’ title at the 2004 World Travel Awards.

The World Travel Awards were launched in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. The awards are voted for by over 150,000 frontline agents and 80,000 travel agencies from across the globe. Agents submit their nominations online in a range of categories which span all sectors of the travel industry.

The award is the twentieth won by Eurostar this year. Recent accolades include: 'Operator of the Year' at the National Rail Awards 2004 and 'Best Mode of Transport' at the Responsible Tourism Awards 2004.

Paul Charles, Eurostar’s Director of Communications, said: “We are delighted to win the ‘World’s Leading Rail Service’ title - particularly as it is the seventh consecutive year that we have won the award!

“This award caps a record-breaking year for Eurostar with our rising passenger numbers being matched by our increasing tally of industry accolades! All of the awards Eurostar have won are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our people in the UK, France and Belgium.”
