Information Systems
From the launch of the company in 1994, Eurostar has always relied on first class technology to deliver first class service. With a portfolio of systems ranging from those which manage sales and reservations to the planning and management of the maintenance of the Eurostar train fleet, the provision of Information Systems is at the heart of Eurostar’s ability to operate a safe service which more than lives up to our customers’ expectations.
With a combination of Microsoft, Oracle and Internet technologies, the team of IS professionals are assured of a varied environment and are motivated by the satisfaction of maintaining Eurostar’s position as the “World’s Leading Rail Service”. This diversity of service provision requires many different roles amongst which are Business Analysts, Project Managers, Application Developers, Database Analysts, Infrastructure Specialists and Service Desk Analysts.
IS manages the development and support of all applications and infrastructure used by Eurostar. These activities are carried out by a combination of in-house resources, Third Party suppliers and Eurostar’s continental railway partners (SNCF and SNCB).
The IS team is playing a leading role in transforming the company to allow it to meet the challenges and opportunities that arise with the opening of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link to St Pancras in 2007.
